Fairy “Unforgettable” Canvas

This was my first ever canvas painting. I had lots of fun working on this canvas. I wanted it to have lots of texture and a fun colored galaxy. I started with the moon, I repeatedly stamped the two moon stamps from the Space Bears stamp set from Mama Elephant for the length of the moon, then I used a little bit of Ranger texture paste mixed with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink to give some of the moon a grayish textured look, dabbed my fingertips and that gave the paste a cool effect, after the paste dried I dipped my fingertip in white paint and lightly ran over the areas where the paste was to give it white highlights. I ran into some trouble working on the colored backround, as I didn’t add any gesso to prep the canvas and I used distress inks which seemed to almost washout when they dried. I kept reapplying the color but it kept lightening when dried. So I finally used Goosbumps Clear Texture Spray over the background to try to protect the color and it worked! It helped retain the color and gave it a beautiful shine. 🙂 yay!  –  Now I think I know better and already bought several products to help make the next canvas painting a smoother process. Can’t wait to work on my next one to see how it turns out. I white heat embossed the word and stars using Versamark to stamp it (very afraid the heat would  ruin the backround!) I had previously colored with copics the cute Fairy stamp from Whymsy Stamps, fussy cut it, and attached it to the canvas with dimensional tape. Hope you like it! Gracias!!

Yes! Thank you soo much Josefine!! Sorry for the extra late reply, I’m trying to get better at this thing called social media! 🙂 Thank you for your comment. I’m really liking to paint but have very little time to play. That cute fairy stamp is from Whimsy Stamps I just love her! My mom would like me to replicate it with a boy angel for her and I’m working on it :-O. We’ll see if the result is as pleasing. 🙂
